School's out for summer...

Today was the last day of school. (Woo Hoo!) We're all looking forward to late mornings, leisurely afternoons and no spelling words for a while. Overall, they were pretty ambivalent about it. I think there are just too many other exciting things happening with all the Brenne's still here. As they were leaving the house this morning to catch the bus, I said, "Have a super-great day...this is the last day you'll ever be a second-grader for the rest of your life! Make it a really good one!"

All I got in return was a couple of eye-rolls.

We all joined them at the school cafeteria for lunch. I think Campbelle and Christian were amazed at all the kids, and how loud they could be. We then and stopped by each room to share birthday treats with their classmates. Madison and the other kids with summer birthdays got up on the table in front of class and were serenaded with the "Cha-Cha" version of Happy Birthday. Will introduced Campbelle, Christian, Jill and Leif to his class and then they located Seattle and Norway on the map.

How fun! Wow, Madison has a cute teacher. I bet that made parent-teacher conferences a bit more enjoyable for you Tammy!
